Ms Wong Liang Pei

Founder and Principal

Diploma in Dance

Ms Pei is the Founder and Principal of Pei School of Dance. With a deep passion for ballet and a strong belief in nurturing each child’s potential, she has dedicated her career to creating a learning environment where discipline and artistry grow hand in hand with joy and confidence. Ms Pei holds a Diploma in Dance from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and is a Registered Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). She has been teaching ballet since 2009 and brings over a decade of professional teaching experience to her work with young dancers. Her philosophy towards dance education is simple yet powerful: ballet and dance are for everyone, as long as there is passion, commitment, and a genuine love for the art form. She believes that while excellence requires dedication, training should always remain encouraging, age-appropriate, and inspiring—especially for children. Prior to founding Pei School of Dance, Ms Pei honed her teaching and leadership skills through years of freelance work as well as roles such as Senior Ballet Mistress, where she mentored students and contributed to developing training methods and fine tuning curriculum. These experiences shaped her holistic approach to dance education and laid the foundation for the school’s strong pedagogical framework. Under Ms Pei’s guidance, students of Pei School of Dance have consistently achieved outstanding results at prestigious international competitions, including Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), Masterpiece International Ballet Competition, and Get the Beat, reflecting the school’s high standards in technique, artistry, and performance quality. Through her leadership, Ms Pei continues to inspire dancers of all ages—encouraging them to pursue ballet with passion, purpose, and confidence.

Ms Nathasia Chin

BA (Hons) in Performance Making (Dance Specialism)

Ballet & Contemporary Teacher

Nathasia graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) with a BA (Hons) in Performance Making (Dance Specialism). She began her journey in classical ballet from the age of 5, and went on to explore competitive dancing in classical ballet, lyrical dance and contemporary dance at 13 years old. In NAFA, Nathasia has choreographed dance and interdisciplinary pieces featured in NAFA's The Third Space and Dancers at Work 2022. Her performance experiences include Beauty Forms by Fragments (Crossings 2024), choreographed by Nguyen Ngoc Ahn. She was also part of many interdisciplinary performances, such as Less Than Half (M1 Fringe Festival 2023) and Animalia (INterSPACE). Throughout her dance journey, Nathasia’s flair and talent in dance, together with her hardworking attitude in learning has led her to clinch top 3 places in local, regional and international competitions continuously over her years in competitive dancing. She has participated in dance competitions such as International Ballet Grand Prix Singapore, where she was awarded 1st in Contemporary and 2nd in Classical. She has also achieved straight distinctions in her Royal Academy of Dance Classical Ballet examinations up to Advanced 1 and is now completing her Advanced 2. Nathasia’s passion for dance led her to pursue teaching so as to share her knowledge and love for dance. In her 4 years of teaching, she has taught RAD and Elite Programmes, and also choreographed competition items. Students under her wing have clinched top 3 in local and regional competitions.

Ms Jamie Hwang ARAD

BA (Hons) in Dance Education

Associate of Royal Academy of Dance

RAD Registered Teacher

Ballet & Contemporary Teacher

Jamie started her training in classical ballet when she was 7 and quickly developed a keen interest in dance. Under the tutelage of Ms Tan Eng Ai and Ms Teo Ching Ching, she has completed The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Graded and Vocational Syllabus up to Advanced 2, achieving multiple distinctions across the levels. Jamie graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours), but her passion towards dance and teaching led her to begin her dance teaching career and eventually pursued a degree with the RAD (BA(Hons) Dance Education) under the mentorship of Ms Wong Liang Pei. Having trained under renowned educators like Mr Peter Teo, Mr Dan Kwoh and Ms Wong Liang Pei, Jamie is also well versed in contemporary and lyrical dance. She has competed in various local, regional and international competitions and placed top 3. Jamie has been teaching ballet, lyrical dance and contemporary dance since 2019 and has also been choreographing for and training students for competitions. Her award winning choreography includes solos and group items (Classical, Lyrical and Contemporary). Jamie’s commitment and passion towards teaching has allowed her students to clinch Top 3 placings in local and international competitions such as Masterpiece International Ballet Competition, Youth American Grand Prix, Get The Beat, CSTD Asia Pacific Dance Competition, Dance Grand Prix Europe (Barcelona), Singapore Challenge Cup and AASCF Winterfest Dance Championship, amongst others. In addition, Jamie had been exposed to several years of performance experience in dance productions such as Element, Breath and dSPACE. She was also heavily involved in a myriad of dance performances (2015 – 2019) by the National University of Singapore (NUS), where she also choreographed. Jamie’s passion for dance, coupled with her outgoing personality, is one of the many reasons why she loves to share the knowledge of dance and has also become an inspiration to many younger dancers.

Ms Kwek Yixuan

BA (Hons) Dance and Choreography (First Class)

Dance Artist with T.H.E Second Company

Contemporary Teacher

Yixuan is a multi-hyphenate who enjoys a broad creative practice. She holds a BA Honours (First Class) in Dance and Choreography from Falmouth University, United Kingdom, and has since found herself exploring the field of dance and performance through making, writing, producing, and teaching. Born and raised in Singapore, she has trained under local practitioners and artists Kuik Swee Boon, Zhuo Zihao, Marcus Foo, and Albert Tiong; abroad, she has worked with practitioners Kuldip Singh-Barmi, Emily Dobson, Simon Birch, and Katrina Brown, amidst others. She has also performed with local dance company RAW Moves, and is presently a dance artist with The Human Expression (T.H.E) Second Company. Most recently, Yixuan also helmed Singapore’s largest contemporary dance festival as its festival manager. With years of teaching students of various ages and learning abilities, Yixuan's teaching practice is informed by her experiences across the local dance landscape. She sees contemporary dance as a crucial tool for learning about oneself and the world around, as well as for developing holistic body awareness and a somatic-cognitive connection. Sharing the joy of movement with her students has been an incredibly rewarding journey, and she hopes to continue help more find the freedom in moving, and to incorporate movement into their ways of life.

Ms Winnie Poh

Diploma in Dance

Certified STOTT Pilates Instructor

Ballet & Contemporary Teacher

Winnie graduated with a Diploma in Dance from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), where she majored in ballet and contemporary dance under the tutelage of Dr. Filomar Cortezano Tariao, Goh Shou Yi, Jeffrey Tan, Toru Okada, and many others. She consistently received Dean’s List award throughout her academic years at NAFA and collaborated with notable choreographers such as Christina Chan, Jenny Neo, Son Yu Joung, and Supatchai Lappakornkul in productions such as The Third Space, Crossings, and da:ns festival. Prior to NAFA, she had learned Chinese Contemporary dance at Dance Ensemble Singapore (DES), where she had the opportunity to perform with DES Arts Company at prominent venues like the Esplanade Theatre and collaborated with Mediacorp. After graduating, Winnie honed her skills and deepened her knowledge as a teaching assistant at NAFA under the mentorship of Susan Yeung. At present, she teaches the RAD ballet syllabus and Elite Programme, and also private coaching for the elite students. In addition to her dance background, she is a certified STOTT Pilates instructor. By integrating her ballet and pilates knowledge, Winnie delivers a well-rounded training experience that enhances her students' technique and artistry, promotes injury prevention, and supports optimal physical conditioning, ultimately improving their overall performance.

Ms Mehitabel Koh

Diploma in Dance

Apprentice with T.H.E Second Company

Contemporary Teacher

Mehitabel graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts with a Diploma in Dance, where she consistently achieved Dean’s List Awards throughout her studies. She is currently an apprentice with The Human Expression (T.H.E) Second Company. Trained in the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus from a young age under Ms June Lee and Ms Wong Liang Pei, Mehitabel completed both the graded and vocational levels up to Advanced Foundation. Beyond ballet, she has had the opportunity to work with esteemed local and international choreographers including Goh Shou Yi (Singapore), Wu Yisan (Taiwan), Aditep Jane (Thailand), and Son Yu Joung (South Korea). Her stage experiences span across productions such as Crossings, Singapore Night Festival, and the Daegu International Dance Festival 2025, among others. Under the mentorship of Ms Kwek Yixuan, Mehitabel has also achieved recognition in local and international competitions, namely Grand prize at Masterpiece International Ballet Competition and First Place at Get The Beat. Known for her discipline, dedication, and artistic expression as a performer, Mehitabel is now also developing her practice in teaching and choreography. She hopes to inspire the next generation of dancers the same confidence, joy, and sense of belonging that dance has brought her.

Ms Aisling Lua (Ms Ash)

BA (Hons) in Dance Education

Ballet Teacher

Aisling began her dance training in Classical Ballet and expanded her range of movement styles in both Contemporary dance and Jazz. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Dance Education from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD, UK), a research-based programme that provides a comprehensive framework of academic inquisition into dance as an art and its functionality as an educational tool. During her time as an active performer, she has also completed multi-disciplinary dance programmes pioneered by veteran dance organizations such as Jitterbugs Swingapore. Having more than a decade of experience in teaching ballet for learners of all ages, Aisling is familiar with both the RAD syllabus and Russian methodology. She adjusts her pedagogical approaches and the class contents so that they are responsive towards varying learning requirements, helping learners to achieve their full potential through consistent and effective training with definable goals. Her portfolio also includes dance curriculum planning for elite competitive rhythmic gymnasts, focusing on building a secure ballet technique foundation, develop clean movement execution with an understanding of the bodily mechanics involved, and cultivate a sense of dance artistry applicable for this exacting sport. Aside from teaching, Aisling is also adept in stage and production management for dance works. Her strong organisational skills, decisive leadership, and knowledge in different styles of dance have led to successful completion of studio-based experimental choreographic labs, theatrical staging of full-length ballets such as Sleeping Beauty, and large-scale performances involving several hundred performers and crew. When she is not occupied with dance matters, Aisling spends her time caring for her senior calico cat, being a bibliophile, and attending concerts and professional development programmes to stay attuned to the global progression of performance art and teaching methodologies.

Ms Fiona Yeo

Diploma in Dance Education

Certified Progressive Ballet Technique and Progressive Contemporary Technique Teacher

Ballet Teacher

Fiona began her dance journey at age nine, training in Chinese dance before expanding her repertoire to include ballet, modern jazz, contemporary, and salsa. Over the years, she has performed and competed on international stages, earning honors at events such as the Barcelona Dance Grand Prix, the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing, and the Singapore Youth Festival. As a soloist, Fiona has captivated audiences, including a work created for INTENSI-5 by Dr. Stephanie Burridge. She has also choreographed and performed solo works in competitive settings such as The Royal Dance Off Solo and The Flux Collective Dance Competition. In her role as a choreographer and educator, Fiona has contributed original works to SMU INDANCITY and SMU Caderas Latinas, with her choreography featured on platforms like dSPACE and in digital productions such as T.R.A.C.E and SMU INDANCITY BEYOND. Fiona holds a Diploma in Dance Education from the University of Bath in partnership with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). She progressed through the RAD syllabus with distinctions from Grades 1 to Advanced 1 under the tutelage of Ms June Lee, and is now a RAD Registered Teacher under the mentorship of Mr Dan Kwoh. She is also certified in Progressive Ballet Technique (Level 1) and Progressive Contemporary Technique. Her teaching philosophy reflects her conviction that dance nurtures not just technique, but the whole person. Fiona is deeply committed to cultivating her students’ artistry and helping them fall in love with dance as a meaningful art form.

Ms Janelle Choi

Assistant Teacher (Ballet)

RAD Advanced 1

Janelle started her ballet from the age of 5 with the Royal Academy of Dance multiple distinctions up till Advanced 1, and is now completing her Advanced 2. With her passion in dance, she has competed in regional and international dance competitions like the International Ballet Grand Prix Singapore and World Ballet Grand Prix under the tutelage of Ms Wong Liang Pei. In her 5 years of competitive dancing, she has won top 3 placings in the classical and lyrical solo categories. Other than classical ballet and lyrical dance, Janelle has also done competitive dancing in Contemporary Dance and was part of the Contemporary Training Programme of Pei School of Dance. Janelle’s passion in dance has sparked an interest in teaching and she has taken up the role of assistant teacher in Pei School of Dance. With Janelle’s bubbly demeanour and experience in dance, she hopes to help students achieve their goals in dance with joy and the correct technique.
